RACEMEET 2k23

Howdy!

First, let me tell you a short history... In the 2000s, events such as TUNINGOWISKO were organized in Wrocław. Cars like Fiat Puntos, Honda Civics, BMW E30s, E36s, Peugeot 206s, as well as Polish automotive wonders like modified Fiats 125 and Polonez, were dominating these events.

Later, smaller gatherings became more popular, and clubs started to form, such as DEGENERACJA, Grupa Wrocław, Mondeo Klub Polska, Octavia Klub Polska, and BMW Syndykat. The gatherings took place every Sunday under the Southern part of the Millennial Bridge. Occasionally, smaller or larger events like the first editions of JAPFEST or regular meetings of the Wrocław Time Attack League (WLTA) would happen at ODTJ Rakietowa.

All these crews, all these people simply started to mature, grow older, or whatever you want to call it. They started families, bought regular cars like vans, or focused on work and their own businesses. Fortunately, after some time, new communities formed under the aforementioned Millennial Bridge, such as the POD MILĄ club.

And here we are! RACEMEET 2023, organized by POD MILĄ, took place at the old airport near Oleśnica.

No restrictions regarding car brand, age, or modification style.

The event was well promoted on social media. We easily found the location, after taking an exit from the highway, passing through a roundabout and a road, we were already at the entrance gate to the airport area. Unfortunately, that's where the problems started. A large number of cars, as expected at the entrance, blocked the narrow road through the forest, which was supposed to be two-way in theory... And there wouldn't be a problem with that if it wasn't for the fact that visitors, not seeing any map at the entrance (which happened to be available on Facebook), started parking on the shoulder of this narrow path, blocking the entire entrance. So, we drove with one side rubbing against protruding bushes because the alternative was meeting a car coming from the opposite direction.

At the entrance, there was a gate, three lanes for cars, payment by card or cash, wristbands, and for only 20 zł per person, we entered the event area.

No problem finding a parking spot, a short walk to the center of the event, and here we are. A few exhibitors, not a very large stage, and a separate passage through the field to the quarter-mile race track and motorcycle stunt show.

The level of cars was really good. From old Mercedes SLs, through heavily modified dragsters, to Lamborghini Aventador SVJs and new Corvettes.

It's worth noting that there were no issues finding a quieter spot, a place to sit, or even a piece of shade under an umbrella at the event.

I think the potential of the event has not been fully utilized, and future editions can achieve a really large scale.

Take a look at a few of our photos from the event and join us for the next one.
